FACELESS in its installation at the premier of "the bomb" at Tribeca Film Festival 2016. This project began as the final project for a Wintersession course. The first iteration was conceived and executed over the course of 10 days by the team: Allison Davis, Erica Efstratoudakis and Charlotte McCurdy.  McCurdy collaborated on the conception of the piece. McCurdy interviewed 9 nuclear disarmament experts for the development and testing of the concept.  McCurdy collaborated on the production of the life-cast molds, the casting of the wax faces, the fabrication of the hoods and the build and finish of the wooden elements. McCurdy designed the form of the hoods.

 With no previous experience controlling mains current McCurdy developed, built and programmed the brain of the piece which drove twelve 200 Watt incandescent light bulbs based on the behavior of the audience. These lights melted the cast wax faces.

 McCurdy had sole responsibility for materials testing in order to produce the correct conditions and pace of melting.
