GEODESIC YURT (2011)
PVC, turnbuckles & felt.
In 2011 McCurdy designed and built a light-weight, portable and collapsible geodesic yurt that can be quickly assembled by two people. Originally conceived as a pop-up theater with which to claim interior space from public space, the yurt developed a life of its own. It functioned as a spontaneous guerrilla gathering space, attracted concerts, performances, fire dancers and festivals.
